The numbers between 100 and 1000 are clearly the three digit number.
All the three digits can be filled by 2 ways.
=> 2*2*2 = 8 ways

Total Digits Given = 2
The cases when 1st digit is to be filled = 2
The cases when 2nd digit is to be filled = 2
The cases when 3rd digit is to be filled= 2
Total cases when all the three digits to be filled with= 2×2×2=8
